is one of the prefectures where many people immigrated to foreign countries. This is why migration has been a major theme for some faculties at the University of the Ryukyus. Especially, based on their field surveys, geographers and sociologists have published many reports and articles on migration studies since 1978, and at the moment, their collection has been kept in the CMSUR. Therefore we not only promote many projects on migration studies but also organize enormous documents and we attempt to build databases on migration studies from our collection. Our study area includes North America,
South America
, and the Asia-Pacific region.
